Max’s Service has a long and storied history as an institution in Downtown Traverse City. Three generations have dedicated Max’s to supporting our neighbors and keeping our community moving. We take pride in how we treat each and every person who walks through our door, as well as how we provide the service needed to keep homes running smoothly.
We offer the best brands and incredible service that you can trust. For today, tomorrow, and everything that comes next, you can trust Max’s for all your appliance needs.
Max Crandall purchased Max's Service in 1945 from M.J. Macintosh. He sold and serviced small and major appliances, Schwinn Bicycles, Goodyear Tires and many other odds and ends. In the mid to late 1970’s Jim Owens, Max’s son-in-law, purchased the business from Max and continued with the same idea. He adapted to the times and focused on Major appliances and electronics.
In the early 80’s Jim discontinued the Goodyear tire sales and service department. He expanded his Major appliance sales department. In 1994 a third generation joined the business, Jim’s son, Jeff.
Max’s continues in the same direction now as when Max founded the business in 1945. We take great pride in our appliance service department and competitive prices. The biggest misconception is that Max’s prices are higher. That is not true when you consider the personal service we offer before, during and after the sale.
That’s why for over 60 years our motto has been, “Its service that counts”.
