About
How many businesses can say that they have had three generations of family ownership?
Max's Service in downtown Traverse City can!
Since 1945, Max's has been family owned and operated.
Max Crandall bought the business in 1945. He sold and serviced small and large appliances, bicycles, Goodyear Tires, and many other odds & ends. In the mid to late 1970's, Max's son-in-law Jim Owens took over. Jim continued with the same ideas as Max, but adapted to the changing times - selling major appliances & electronics. In the early 1980's, Jim discontinued the tire/service garage. In 1994, a third generation joined the business - Max's grandson, Jeff Owens. Since that time, Max's purchased another appliance store, Paul Garthe, Inc.
Max's Service delivers and services a 40 mile radius around Traverse City. They sell major appliances and electronics. Max's takes great pride in their service and the prices they offer. The biggest misconception about Max's is that their prices are higher. That just isn't true when you compare the personal services they offer after the sale. Max's will be there for you both before and after every purchase. Their competitors won't - period. That's why for over 50 years Max's philosophy has been "It's Service that counts." |
